This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Berkeley Community Mental Health Center, 403 Stony Landing Road, Moncks Corner, SC 29461.

Under direct supervision, this employee will provide mental health assessments, initiate treatment plans, and deliver an array of clinical interventions to promote individualized patient recovery.

Responsibilities for the Mental Health Professional - Outpatient Clinical Services:

Perform the function of a MHP in an efficient manner and with positively-rate customer satisfaction: Attend to daily schedule; Ensure patients are seen as per LOC guidelines; Address patient barriers to services; Engagement completed per procedure; Ensure crises are staffed; Satisfaction Survey scores are positively ranked; Cooperate with community partners, ensures internal & external customer satisfaction.

Meet customer satisfaction goals.

Perform the function of a MHP in an effective manner: Provide mental health services to children, adolescents, & adults; Treatment reflects evidence-based practices; Outcomes and/or Progress Summaries reflect patient improvement; POC goals are written in the patient’s own words; Objective are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-limited; Objective and interventions address patients’ SNAPs; Develop Personal Safety Plans; Protect confidentiality.

Meet PCH goals.

Perform the function of a MHP in an efficient manner; Record notes will be written collaboratively; Documentation completed according to QI policies; Complete outcome measures per procedures; Services and contracts to patients are documented; Keeps billing disallowances to a minimum.

Meets QA goals.

  • Perform the function of a MHP in an ethical and lawful manner; Adhere to Center, DBHDD, & State Corporate Compliance policies, procedures, and responsibilities; Make good faith effort to report violations; Will not intentionally violate laws regulating the provision of health care; Adhere to Code of Conduct.
  • Perform the function of a MHP in a professionally responsible manner; Participate in ongoing professional development; Maintain license/certifications; Comply with training requirements; Attend scheduled supervision, treatment team, and other assigned meetings as required; Utilize leave time according toprocedure; Follow chain of command.
  • This position MAY be eligible for SCOMH Student Loan Repayment to cover some of the cost of your outstanding loan(s) balance associated with the completion of a healthcare degree that is relevant to the appliable position.


    Requirements

    • A master's degree in guidance, counseling, social sciences or a related field that meets the eligibility for licensure as an LPC, LMFT, or LISW-CP.

    Qualifications

    • Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.

    Additional Information

    • Have knowledge/skills to conduct comprehensive mental health assessments.
    • Formulate diagnoses, initiate treatment plans, and deliver an array of therapeutic services.
    • Have ability to function in CMH setting.
    • Have ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team and liaise with the community.
    • Have ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
