This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Spartanburg Area Mental Health Center, 250 Dewey Ave, Spartanburg, SC 29303.


As the Mental Health Professional II, you will lead the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team providing evidence - based services in intensive non-residential treatment and rehabilitative services in accordance with the fidelity model. This is a single fixed point of reasonability for treatment, rehabilitation, and support needs for patients with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) who require higher levels of community care and have not been well supported in lower level of care options.


Responsibilities for the Mental Health Professional II:

  • Oversee the administrative operations of the team.
  • Provide clinical oversight of services ensuring patients are seen in accordance with their needs and the delivery of best ethical practices.
  • Provide direct services to ACT service beneficiaries.
  • Ensure services are documented in accordance with OMH/QA requirements.
  • Comply with Corporate Compliance Policy and Risk Management Plan and ensure timely completion prior authorizations.
  • Pursue professional development through collegial consultation, continuing education, and licensure.

Requirements

  • A master's degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or related and professional experience in a mental health, human service or social service program.
  • Must be licensed as LISW-CP, LPC, or LMFT, as well as have supervisory experience.
Additional Requirements
In order to be credentialed for core services as a Mental Health Professional as the SC Office of Mental Health, applicants must provide evidence of clinical experience providing direct patient care. This experience may be documented as a practicum or internship during graduate program, or -post clinical experience may be documented as a practicum or internship during graduate program, or post-graduate clinical experience. Please be sure to provide specific clinical activities of your application and/or resume.

Qualifications

  • Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.

Additional Information

Post hire, employee must:

  • Be able to pass CPR and Managing Agitation in the Psychiatric Setting (MAPS) Certification.
  • Have knowledge of abnormal behavior adjustments techniques, casework practices and interviewing techniques.
  • Have knowledge of legal principles and practices, methods, principles and practices of clinical counseling and education services and the ability to apply the knowledge.
  • Be organized, able to maintain a caseload and effectively plan, coordinate and manage complex treatment interventions.
  • Be able to function indepe4ndently with discretion and professional judgement.
  • Exhibit cooperation and diplomacy across a variety of settings and situations.\
