We are seeking a Mental Health Professional II/Special Operations Supervisor who is motivated to help individuals and families navigate life's challenges and achieve long-term wellness.

This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Berkeley Community Mental Health Center, 403 Stony Landing Road, Moncks Corner, SC 29461.

As the Mental Health Professional II/Special Operations Supervisor, under general supervision, you will ensure effective and efficient coordination and supervision of the assigned services area which may include Highway to Hope mobile RV outreach services, Homeshare, Peer Support Services, MDFT, Housing Coordination, Community Education and Prevention, and IPS employment services. This position will also provide assessments, crisis management, individual and family counseling, and coordination of care for patients who present with psychiatric disorders.

Responsibilities for the Mental Health Professional II/Special Operations Supervisor:

Perform the duties of an MHP II including attending to the daily operations of assigned programs, ensuring effective personnel management, program coordination, employee evaluation, and leave management.

Provide clinical supervision including clinical support, work with staff and community partners to address barriers to care and engagement, attend meetings, serve on committees, complete audits, tracks data, provide in-service education for community partners, and helps orient new staff.

Team maintains positive patient and stakeholder customer satisfaction ratings.

  • Deliver an array of direct mental health services that are evidence-based including advanced assessment, crisis management, and individual and family therapy services patients as needed. Meet patient care hours and ensures the team meets hours.
  • Ensure self and team meet quality bench mark standards for items such as collaborative documentation, DLA -20 completion, appropriate level of care service provision, completing progress summaries and plans of care on time with patient signatures, closing cases in a timely manner and documenting attempts to engage in treatment.

    Team meets Collaborative and other documentation standards and performs well on audits, keeps billing disallowances to a minimum.

    Adhere to Center, OMH, & State Corp Compliance policies, procedures, and regulations.

    Will make good faith effort to report any activity that appears to violate policies, procedures, regulations and statutes; Will report compliance issues by contacting supervisor, Center's Corp Compliance Officer or OMH compliance Hotline at time violation is observed; Adheres to professional discipline's Code of Conduct for ethical practice.

    Ensures area meets CARF accreditation standards.

  • Participate in activities promoting ongoing professional development/training. Maintain professional license/certifications as appropriate. Comply with training requirements and timelines.
  • Perform all other duties assigned.
  • This position MAY be eligible for SCOMH Student Loan Repayment to cover some of the cost of your outstanding loan(s) balance associated with the completion of a healthcare degree that is relevant to the appliable position.


    Requirements

    • A master’s degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field and professional experience in a mental health, human service or social service program.
    Additional Requirements
    • One (1) year of clinical experience required, LPC, LMFT, or LISW licensure preferred.

    Qualifications

    • Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.

    *Services provided will be in clinic and community settings. This position is considered essential and may be called back during crisis/disasters/emergencies.
