About the Position: This position serves as a Medical Support Assistant (Scheduler/Office Automation) at Eisenhower Army Medical Center Fort Gordon, GA.

This position is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the MHS Genesis Access Template Managers and fifty clinics across the installation.

Hours: 0800-1630 This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes includes managing and maintaining clinic, provider, and appointment type profiles in the patient appointing system; overseeing automated data processing equipment and serving as liaison between customers and health care personnel; AND notifying system maintenance personnel of system issues.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. Major Duties:

  • Perform front desk duties that include greeting patients and taking necessary action to expedite a smooth and effective visit.
  • Develop and maintain templates, and schedules for providers, residents and technicians.
  • Analyze medical records to ensure records are accurate.
  • Perform a variety of administrative functions associated with medical records and health information processing.
  • Receive all telephone calls and visitors to the department.
  • Establish, organize, and maintain medical records.
  • Provide technical support to staff members by ensuring all Service members’ medical updates are entered into automated systems.
  • Utilize automated hospital-wide computer systems.
  • Identify software and hardware operational problems, and forwards recommendations for improvements on the system.
  • Act as a liaison between customers and health center personnel, ensuring efficient communication and workflow.
