The Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Medical Records Technician to join our medical records team at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Fayette.
In this important role, you will handle the technical responsibilities involved in maintaining accurate medical records for inmates housed at the facility.

In this position, you will oversee the organization, maintenance, and monitoring of the integrated health records system for incarcerated individuals.
Your responsibilities include coding diagnoses, surgical procedures, specialized therapies, program services, and treatments using appropriate diagnostic-related group assignments.
You will ensure all medical reports and documentation comply with established documentation standards, DOC policies, and applicable federal, state, and accreditation requirements for health care.
Additional duties include filing, retrieving, and releasing health care records in accordance with confidentiality guidelines, regulations, and legal requirements.
You will also review medical records and reports for accuracy and completeness, identifying deficiencies and returning incomplete or insufficient documentation for correction.
