This job involves supervising a team of materials handlers in a Veterans Affairs medical center, where you'll plan workflows, organize storage for supplies, and ensure timely deliveries based on urgent needs.
You'll act as a key communicator between higher-ups and your team, resolving issues and coordinating with other departments like property management and engineering.

Acts as a communications conduit between higher level supervisors to pass along priorities and resolves conflicting priorities Ensures that staff works in collaboration with Property Manager(s) to follow customary sequences in planning work assignments.

Dexterity and Safety Interpret Instructions, Specifications (other than blueprint reading) Materials Technical Practices Work Practices Preferred Experiences: Warehouse management experience is a plus or leadership experience with shipping/ receiving LICENSES: This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a valid state issued driver's license.

The duties of the Materials Handler Supervisor includes but is not limited to: Determines the work flow for timely performance of assignments based on emergencies, known needs, and delivery requirements.
Develops or oversees the development of plans for storage and arrangement of stock in accordance with agency regulations.
Works with Engineering to ensure floor plan and overhead changes are reflected in Medical Center blueprints and schematic designs.
Consolidates materials and provides maximum space utilization and protection of materials. Assigns work to individuals to ensure the safe receipt, storage and movement of hazardous and toxic materials.
Adheres to safe work practices, ensuring staff processes the delivery of materials including hazardous, flammable, and temperature sensitive products.
Ensures Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and infections control standards are maintained at all times. Serves as the senior leader of warehouse project teams.
Ensures staff adhere to work priorities, project schedules. Performs other duties as assigned.
