THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for a MATERIALS HANDLER SUPERVISOR, Position Description Number D0731000 and is part of the PA United States Property and Fiscal Office, National Guard.

1 or more Position(s) may be hired against this Announcement. APPOINTMENT STATUS: EXCEPTED This is a Dual Status Excepted Service Technician position in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard.

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: Non-Bargaining Position AOC 1: NG Employees at USPFO Supply and Services Division AOC 2: NG employees in the USPFO (This includes Internal Revenue, Contracting, Resource Management, and DPI) AOC 3: NG Employees of the Pennsylvania National Guard AOC 4: All service members of the Pennsylvania National Guard (This includes Traditional Airmen, Temporary Technicians and AGR Personnel) AOC 5: Individuals who are currently service in another branch of service who are willing to become members of the PANG Military Grades: OFFICER O1-O6 WARRANT OFFICER: WO1 - CW5 ENLISTED E6-E9 Supervisor for this position is Mr.

Hugendubler *NOTE: If you're a new supervisor in the Federal Government civil service, you may have to complete a one-year probationary period.

*NOTE: Accessioning into this position is contingent upon verification of Secret Security Clearance GENERALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates that the candidate has the ability to organize assignments for subordinates, estimate material and manpower needed for specific jobs; able to explain manuals and work procedures; and to prepare production records, work records and reports.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In addition to the journeyman level knowledge, do you have experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel.

Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines. Experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function.

Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes.

Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations. QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE: Length of time is not of itself qualifying.

Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed.

The applicant's record of experience, training, and education must show possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position to be filled.

Major Duties:

As a MATERIALS HANDLER SUPERVISOR, WS-6907-06, you will plan weekly or monthly work schedules and sequence of operations. Assign tasks to be performed.

Explain work requirements, methods, and procedures. Instruct subordinates on new procedures or methods and provides assistance on difficult or new problem areas.

Recommend and participate in the selection of personnel to fill vacancies. Schedule and approve leave of subordinates. Perform the nonsupervisory work of the function as needed.

Implement regulatory safety requirements and ensures that subordinates wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions. Perform other duties as assigned.
