Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves leading a team that manages the receiving, shipping, and distribution of biological materials, animals, and supplies at a government facility focused on animal and plant health.
The role requires overseeing daily operations, ensuring safe handling of sensitive items like infectious agents, and coordinating paperwork for domestic and international shipments.
It's a good fit for someone with hands-on experience in logistics supervision, especially in regulated environments like labs or warehouses, who is detail-oriented and comfortable with both manual and computer-based inventory systems.
This position serves as the supervisor of the Transshipping section which is located in the Laboratory Support Services onsite at National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility (NBAF) and the USDA, NBAF External Distribution Center located off site in Manhattan, Kansas.
