This job involves handling materials in a military medical center, including assembling and repairing office furniture, operating trucks and forklifts for deliveries, and managing warehouse inventory.
It's a hands-on role supporting daily operations in patient care and office areas.
A good fit would be someone with practical experience in logistics or manual labor who is reliable, physically capable, and comfortable working under general supervision.
About the Position: This position is located at Brooke Army Medical Center, in San Antonio, Texas.

However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Materials Handler ~ without more than normal supervision. The ability to perform common Materials Handler duties.
Properly install, service, repair, and configure modern modular office furniture, (Herman Miller or similar brand).
Operate heavy duty delivery trucks, and operate forklifts to load and unload equipment. Skilled in warehousing procedures.
Work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.

Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc.
Dexterity and Safety Knowledge of Materials Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Work Practices (includes keeping things neat, clean, and in order) Physical Effort: Requires standing, walking, stooping, climbing, and lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds and occasionally in excess of 75 pounds.
Working Conditions: Work is done primarily inside of general office and patient care areas and in a warehouse atmosphere for all stockpiled essentials; however some external delivery via a truck or forklift is occasionally required to support the ongoing mission.
Work areas inside are normally well lit and at normal room temperature for furniture support. Exposed to normal warehouse noise and possible falls, cuts, scrapes, and bruises.
