About the position: This position will be assigned to Civil Engineering on Nellis AFB, Nevada. Flexible employees have no guaranteed hours, but may work up to 40 hours per week.

This position does not offer benefits. Must be physically able to frequently lift and carry medium to heavy objects up to 40 pounds and be able to occasionally lift and carry objects up to 50lbs.

Work is performed both inside a warehouse and in surrounding storage areas subject to a variety of weather conditions. Who May Apply: Open to everyone.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience: Experience and training that provide the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform the duties of the position consistent with the accepted practices of the trade.

This includes using and maintaining tools and equipment, being able to read, understand and apply instructions and other requirements related the job. Must be able to drive and operate forklifts.

Major Duties:

Collects, receives, identifies, sorts, and moves material to the baler, ensuring the material is correct to process.

Ensures that all customers who turn-in recyclables sign in the log book maintained in the recycling center to track activities and reporting.

Operates both a forklift capable of lifting up to 6,000 pounds and a baler. Maintains the vehicle logbook and equipment as required.

Required to drive a pick-up truck used occasionally throughout the base to collect recycle material from operating units on the base.

Examines, processes, and classifies a limited variety of common, easily recognized materials.

Responsible for the safe and proper operation of the equipment, machinery, vehicle, and tools used and for observing all required operating and safety criteria in regard to the operation and use of these items.

Ensure that supplies and equipment are safeguarded and secure at all times and that ample supplies are on hand to avoid work stoppage.

Assist and provide necessary information for the Pollution, Prevention/Compliance subcommittee meeting on a quarterly basis.

Examines processes, and classifies a limited variety of common, easily recognized materials.
