This job involves working as a materials engineer or chemist for the Navy, focusing on supporting the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of aircraft and weapon systems at a depot in North Carolina.
You'll make technical decisions, update instructions, prepare reports on materials and processes, and help manage projects to keep equipment running smoothly.
It's a good fit for someone with engineering experience in aerospace or defense who enjoys problem-solving and working on high-stakes team projects.
You will serve as a MATERIALS ENGINEER/CHEMIST in the MRO Engineering Department/Depot Support Team of FLTREADCEN EAST.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Understanding of Fleet Support Team (FST) and/or Maintenace Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Engineering, developing program sustainment and acquisition engineering support; 2) Managing technical and professional services required to sustain a weapon system; 3) Evaluating new approaches, guides and standards to make engineering decisions.
