Full Job Description

You will serve as a Marine Machinery Mechanic Work Leader in the General Industrial Support Work Center Branch of the zzIndustrial Support Division of NSWC PHILA DIV.

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job.

  • You will be operating, assembling, installing, modifying, maintaining, and disassembling test and plant installations of naval machinery, both production and prototype.
  • You will direct skilled trade’s persons in the execution of the work.
  • You will assign immediate tasks, demonstrate work methods, set the pace, check work, assure the work is completed, and report to the supervisor on work status or cause of work delays.
  • You will utilize other trades as helpers, determine and utilize borrowed labor in accomplishing assigned tasks, inspect work being done by other tradesman to insure correctness and conformance to design.
  • You will perform work as a journey-level mechanic; Fully qualified on CTF watch stations including the CTF Maintenance Job Qualification Requirements and member of the work crew led.
