Full Job Description

You will serve as a MARINE MACHINERY MECHANIC SUPERVISOR in the Production Department (Code 900), Engines Division (Code 930), Diesel Branch (Code 931), Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC) of MID ATLANTIC REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CTR.

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job.

Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE - Basic mechanical aptitude with some working knowledge of general maritime Main Propulsion Diesel Engine and Ship's Service Diesel Generators.

- Basic working knowledge of the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual as it applies to Maintenance Procedures (MP) Formal Work Packages (FWP) and Controlled Work Packages (CWP).

- Determining sequence, priorities, and deadlines of scheduled assignments. - Planning most efficient use of equipment, material, and manpower in terms of workload and completion dates.

- Redirecting individual workers and resources to accomplish unanticipated work. (e.g., work resulting from "open and inspect" types of work orders).

- Repairing a variety of marine machinery and equipment including Diesel Engines and Diesel Generators along with associated equipment aboard US Naval ships.
