You will serve as a MARINE MACHINERY MECHANIC LEADER in the Mechanical Shop (930) Production Resources Department Manager (Code 901), Production Resources Department (Code 900) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE Ability to apply knowledge of work operations in leading mechanics concerning methods for jobs to be accomplished.
Ability to lead journeyman mechanics through instruction and demonstration of proper work methods. Ability to apply knowledge of marine machinery mechanic systems and equipment.
Ability to apply good knowledge of the various components, tanks, and systems associated with naval submarines and surface ships.
Ability to understand operational theory, check-out procedures, and have knowledge and skill to perform marine machinery mechanic work. Ability to communicate changes to workers under your leadership.
