Base salary range: $147,649 - $221,900

Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).

You will serve as a MARINE MACHINERY MECHANIC SUPERVISOR I in the Mechanical Shop (Code 930), Production Resources Department Manager (Code 901), Production Resources Department (Code 900) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE Applying knowledge of Submarines and/or Surface Ship systems, components, comportments and tanks, working in a formal marine machinery mechanic trade.
Applying knowledge of the Advanced Industrial Management (AIM) processes.
Experience planning the use of workers, equipment, facilities, materials and tools provided through the (AIM) process for assigned units of work.
Monitoring the status of assigned work in relation to the overall scheduled requirements including unanticipated or emergency requirements.
Providing technical direction to subordinate workers the marine machinery mechanic trade.
Providing general knowledge of work techniques, methods, processes and equipment used by journeymen in any other shipyard trade.
