This job involves leading a team of mechanics in maintaining and repairing engines and equipment on Navy small boats and support craft in Hawaii.
You'll supervise daily operations, plan long-term work schedules, and ensure all repairs are done efficiently and safely.

You will serve as a MARINE MACHINERY MECHANIC SUPERVISOR in the Navy Region Hawaii (CNRH) Port Operations Program of NAVAL STATION.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE 1) Utilizing supervisory techniques, instructional techniques and good engineering practices to effectively give supervisory oversight; 2) Managing subordinates and team leads utilizing supervisory techniques to ensure that all credentials and certifications are obtained and up-to-date; 3) Mentoring and training on the following: mechanical principles, small craft repair and maintenance, and various types of machinery; 4) Repairing and overhauling main propulsion machinery including diesel engines and auxiliary machinery installed on service craft; 5) Performing preventive maintenance and repair on gas and diesel engines and associated machinery; 6) Supervising and overseeing marine equipment installed on small boats and service craft to include the hull and all installed parts and components, welding and marine painting.
