Full Job Description

This position is within the Environmental & Social (E&S) Risk Assessment Division, Office of Development Policy (ODP) of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC).

The Managing Director, Environmental & Social Risk Assessment serves as a first level supervisor, directing DFC's environmental and social risk assessment program in collaboration with E&S Division management team.

Status candidates must meet time-in-grade requirements (52 weeks at the next lower grade level).

Applicants must meet all eligibility and qualification requirements no later than the closing date of this announcement.

TIME-IN-GRADE: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b).

You may qualify at the GS-15 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirements: A.

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates your experience in all of the following: Overseeing environmental and social risk management across a wide-range of projects to ensure compliance with applicable standards; Presenting recommendations to leadership and/or briefing external stakeholders on environmental and social risk assessment analysis, policies and/or procedures; Collaborating across teams to develop and disseminate new/revised policies, procedures, and/or methodologies for environmental and social risk management system; and Supervising a team.

Note: Education is not substitutional at this grade level.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. This announcement may be used to fill similar positions, if additional vacancies occur. Major Duties:

As the Managing Director, Environmental & Social Risk Assessment (Supervisory Environmental and Social Risk Specialist), you will: Lead the assigned Environmental & Social (E&S) Risk Assessment team focused on reviewing projects seeking DFC support (due diligence) for E&S risks.

Oversee and direct the approach and implementation of E&S risk management in coordination with E&S Division management team.

Partner with the E&S Division management team in assuring policies, procedures and other ways of working support a functional E&S risk management system, regular and ongoing improvement, and consistency in implementation.

Support and assure team members' success and accountability for delivering against E&S Division objectives, provide and connect on needed technical guidance, support professional development objectives of team members, foster sense of team and shared success within the E&S Division and ODP.

Represent DFC and ODP at internal and external high-level meetings on sensitive E&S matters. Facilitate and direct engagement with internal and external stakeholders with respect to E&S matters.
