Full Job Description

You will serve as the Division Manager for the WEAPON AND SENSOR INSTALLATION DIVISION, MODERNIZATION AND INSTALLATION DEPARTMENT of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER PORT HUENEME DIVISION.

The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze.

Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 (GS-12/13 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional Engineer providing leadership and guidance to coordinate engineering projects to ensure a project, system, or product meets requirements and standards; identify and analyze problems weighing relevance and accuracy of information; develop the competencies of others; and communicate, articulate, present, and promote varied ideas and issues before a range of audiences for a shipboard warfare systems program.

  • You will serve as a Division Manager and will be required to have overall insight into the development, management of business and engineering processes, policies, procedures, and operational schedules.
  • You will plan, organize, manage, provide technical direction, personnel management, and allocate resources for division programs.
  • You will provide leadership and supervision in multiple In-Service Engineering and logistics disciplines.
  • You will develop and establish division operational, administrative and management policy.
  • You will conduct comprehensive analysis of division operational criteria, including technical competencies to ensure division health and compliance with command goals and mission objectives.
  • You will track division financial status and reconcile funding expenditures.
  • You will develop and execute the division business plan; plan and coordinate operational projects; direct, manage, execute and supervise division tasking and participate in command and warfare center special projects.
