Full Job Description

You will serve as a MAINTENANCE WORKER SUPERVISOR in the Preservation Shop (Shop 71) in the Production Resources Department, Code 900, Coating and Services Shop, Code 970, of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

  • You will be responsible for the supervisory functions of but not limited to: Hazardous Waste Handling, Equipment Cleaning and Equipment Pump Operations on submarines, surface crafts and in shore facilities.
  • You will observe work in progress to anticipate and resolve problems, reassign personnel within group supervised, and coordinate work among workers.
  • You will inspect completed work quality and work order requirements.
  • You will determine material, equipment, and facilities needed.
  • You will advise and counsel workers on how to improve their performance and explain new work techniques.
  • You will assign, direct, and review the work of the subordinates, and evaluate their work performance.
  • You will plan, schedule and coordinate work operations.
