Full Job Description

You will serve as a MAINTENANCE WORKER LEADER in the PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT (CODE 900) of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below.

  • You will lead the work of others to include ensuring that the work production of those led is keeping with standards, deadlines, etc.
  • You will apply a full range of basic knowledge and skills of the trade to perform blasting and painting operations.
  • You will use written trade instructions and technical guidelines.
  • You will work safely in all areas and understand and adhere to safety procedures and requirements.
  • You will review, assign work, and provide plans and specifications to work crew and ensure that necessary materials are available.
  • You will instruct subordinates on any unusual work steps or requirements, including directives and instructions received from higher supervisory levels and check work in progress and upon completion.
  • You will review assigned instructions, standards, technical drawings and plans, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
