Full Job Description

This position is assigned to MWR, Business Operations Division, and will be referred out to the Parks and Picnic Areas. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid.

A qualified candidate must possess the following: 1. Must have a working knowledge of wood working techniques and basic shop mathematics. 2.

Must be skilled in use and operation of common hand and power tools and measuring devices of the carpentry and painting trades to perform a variety of tasks. 3.

Must have knowledge of standard surface preparation and coating methods and techniques. 4. Must have ability to read and follow basic blueprints and sketches. 5.

Must have skill in manipulating controls of a motor vehicle. Major Duties:

  • Plans the use of workers, equipment, facilities, and materials on a day-to-day, project-by-project and on a week-to- week and month-to-month basis.
  • Investigates works related problems such as excessive costs or low productivity and determine causes.
  • Determines training needs and arranges for accomplishment of it; sets performance standards and makes formal appraisals of subordinates.
  • Participates with superiors in initial planning of current and future work schedules, budget requests, staffing needs and estimates.
