This job involves leading a team of inmate workers to maintain and repair buildings, grounds, and utilities in a federal prison, ensuring everything runs safely and securely.
A good fit would be someone with hands-on experience in construction trades who can supervise others effectively, especially in a high-security environment, and who prioritizes safety and security above all.

**Your eligibility for consideration will be based on your responses to the questions in the application. Major Duties:
Responsible for the maintenance and repair of the institution buildings and structures, through the supervision of inmate workers.
Supervises and trains inmate workers in various phases associated with the construction, repair, maintenance, and renovation of buildings and related structures, grounds, fixtures and utilities, requiring the use of a variety of trade practices such as carpentry, masonry, plumbing, cement work, painting, welding, roofing, and other related trades.
Responsible for design and development of plans, specifications and blueprint drawings.
Responsible for adhering to safety procedures for hazardous material handling, OSHA requirements, and environmental issues.
Responsible for the ordering and purchasing of all material/equipment needed to perform assigned projects.
Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution.
The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.
