Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) MAINTENANCE WORKER (MVO) ~ without more than normal supervision, the ability to perform various manual labor tasks, use and operate a variety of hand and power tools; repair, install, or replace plumbing and electrical fixtures; apply building principles when working with concrete and carpentry; perform grounds maintenance - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc.
(Other Than Blueprint Reading) Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Knowledge of Materials PHYSICAL EFFORT The incumbent is frequently required to lift and carry moderate to heavy (over 50 pounds) boxes, tools, equipment and exert moderate physical effort is operating hand foot controls of equipment.
Work also requires considerable standing, stooping, bending, walking, kneeling, climbing and working in uncomfortable and tiring positions.
WORKING CONDITIONS Work is performed primarily outside in all types of weather (e.g., heat, cold, and below freezing temperatures, rain, snow, wind, etc.) and usually in a dirty, dusty and/or greasy environment.
Incumbent is exposed to the possibility of broken bones, electrical shocks, burns, cuts bruises, maimed fingers and scrapes. Major Duties:
