About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Foster Creek Villas in Foster Creek, SC This position is Flexible, meaning you are guaranteed a minimum of 0 hours per week to a maximum of 40 hours per week.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience: General knowledge and experience in carpentry, painting, plumbing, and grounds maintenance.

Experience must have included use of a variety of hand and power tools such as drills, saws, hammers, chisels, wrenches, screwdrivers, lawnmowers, edgers, and weedeaters.

Position requires walking, standing, stooping and lifting up to 100 pounds. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical.

Must satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquires (NACI). Major Duties:

Performs preventative maintenance type work on buildings and structures to determine nature and extent or repaired required.

Makes minor electrical repairs by replacing fixtures, switches, sockets, bulbs and fluorescent fixtures. Inspects interior plumbing fixtures, fittings and pipes for defective parts or malfunction.

Repairs and replaces defective faucets, valves, shower heads, lavatories, urinals and bathroom fixtures. Replaces mounting brackets, and supports for basins, laundry traps and drinking fountains.

Clears stopped or sluggish drain lines. Performs minor carpentry work on buildings, furnishing and equipment. Replaces ceiling tiles damaged by mold or moisture on an as needed basis.

Makes repair of interior and exterior of buildings on trimming of sticking doors and windows, weather stripping, broken or loose window screens, loose doors and picture frames and repairing damages to furnishings and equipment.

Cutting duplicate keys and maintaining backup keys for the Lodging desk. Maintains daily check on buildings for deterioration of painted surfaces and rusted metal surfaces.

May perform minor touch- up painting to interiors.

Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of tractor lawnmowers, mower decks, power gas edgers, clippers and other equipment to ensure that they are in good mechanical and safe operating condition within the prescribed safety measures.

Performs routine maintenance such as oil change, minor adjustments, spark plug cleaning and replacements, etc., on such equipment.

Checks condition of grounds to include landscaping, trimming of trees/shrubbery, mowing and watering of grassed areas. Position is a position of trust.

CONTROLS OVER WORK: Works under the direct supervision of the Lodging Manager who provides guidance on matters of policy and assigns duties as appropriate and as required.

OTHER SIGNIFICANT FACTS: General knowledge of carpentry, painting, plumbing and general maintenance work is required.
