About the position: This position will be assigned to the Eglin Lodging Facilities. This is a NAF (Non-Appropriated Fund) position assigned to the 96th Force Support Squadron at Eglin AFB Florida.

Position is Regular Part-time (RPT) guaranteed 20-34 hours per week and schedule tour of duty may include nights, weekends and holidays.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience: Must have general experience which provided a basic knowledge of and ability to perform basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, and electrical duties.

Must have previous experience in the maintenance and repair tasks involved in the upkeep of buildings, grounds, and related structures, fixtures, and utilities.

Must be skilled in the use of common carpentry and plumbing hand/power tools and equipment.

Must be physically able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds; occasionally heavier objects with assistance. Major Duties:

Performs visual inspections and operational tests to determine the need for, and the performance of, repair work associated with various trades, such as Carpentry, Plumbing, Painting and Electricity.

Unclogs sinks, commodes, and urinals. Replaces fixture parts such as washers, floats, handles, shower heads and toilet seats. Caulks around tubs, sinks, etc.

Makes repairs to walls, doors, windows, floors and ceilings using accepted trade practices.

Prepares surfaces by repairing holes, applying dry wall compound, sanding before application of paints, enamels, varnishes as undercoats and finish coats.

Repairs and/or replaces minor electrical problems such as wall sockets, switches, light switches, etc. Removes and replaces damaged tile and carpet.

Makes minor repairs and adjustments to various lodging furnishings. Operates and performs operator maintenance on various lodging vehicles. Performs other related duties as assigned.
