Requirements
The Loudoun County Department of General Services is seeking qualified applicants for Maintenance Technician I positions in the Waste Management Division. This is a general maintenance position that will assist with landfill and recycling operations by performing grounds maintenance at the 400-acre Landfill site, utilizing lawn mowers, tractors, rotary mowers, string trimmers, blowers, and vacuums.
Duties include, but are not limited to, lawn mowing, edging, trimming, fence-line maintenance, litter control, traffic control, recycling center, and citizen convenience area operations and cleanup. Off-season work will entail performing maintenance on landscape equipment, fence repair, erosion control (raking, shaping, seeding, mulching), snow removal, and site cleanup.

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of related work experience in basic grounds and/or building maintenance or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred: Experience performing small engine maintenance and repair.
Additional Information
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of criminal and DMV record background checks. Valid driver's license and good driving record (driving records may be reviewed annually for continued qualification). Ability to lift 60 lbs. is required.
