MOS Code: NoneEducation and Experience: A High School diploma or GED, or higher, and one (1) year of experience in automotive service writing or automotive service work.Licenses and Certificates: None.
Requirements
Under general supervision, process work orders for equipment maintenance or repair and maintain accurate records.
Qualifications
Process work orders. Involves: Write work/repair orders, review mechanics notes, and verify labor, parts and fluid charges, close and file work orders. Maintain files for warranty or recall repairs completed at dealerships. Post repairs performed by vendors.
Maintain vehicle and/or facilities repair history records. Involves: Computer data entry of vehicle or maintenance repairs, road calls, accidents, sublet repairs; encode labor operations and correct data as needed. Record operator vehicle inspection and repair requests. Run daily shop productivity reports of the number of vehicles in shop or out of service, date brought in, sublet, status and count and percentage of vehicles available for service. Run periodic or ad hoc reports.
Interact with supervisors, other departments, drivers, vendors, contractors and coworkers. Involves: Answer telephones. Provide status of work in progress to department representatives or drivers. Provide accurate information to inquiries. Dispatch field service calls.
Perform related duties as required. Involves: Perform duties of immediate supervisor or coworkers as necessary to ensure continuity of operations during absences. Assign unit numbers to newly purchased vehicles and create a base maintenance record to register vehicles.
