Air Reserve Technicians are full-time civilian employees who are also members of the Air Force Reserve unit in which they are employed.
In addition to their civilian assignments, they are assigned to equivalent positions in the Reserve organization with a Reserve military rank or grade.
Appointee's civilian assignments will consist of the following duties. THIS IS AN AIR RESERVE TECHNICIAN OFFICER POSITION.
This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) Officer position located at 301 MAINTENANCE GP with the military rank of O-6 Col, AFSC: 020C0.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: I have 52 weeks of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-13 level or equivalent.
Typically this work includes; the planning, organizing, coordinating, directing, and controlling the maintenance activity and operations of subordinate units.
(To be creditable, specialized perceived must meet the above quality level requirements.) KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1.
Comprehensive and detailed knowledge of aircraft maintenance functions. 2. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. 3.
Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise a highly diverse staff and workforce through subordinate supervisors. 4.
Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of several organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources. 5.
Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in relations with individuals, groups, and unit organizations. 6. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
Other Significant Facts Continued: This is an ART position. The incumbent is required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements.
Work schedule will be aligned to allow incumbent to fully participate in unit training assemblies.
The incumbent's regular assignments are primarily ART duties; however, the incumbent may also be assigned some non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities.
The incumbent may be required to fly in commercial or military aircraft for performance of TDY.
Incumbent must be willing to move/transfer to another unit/ location on a lateral or promotion as directed by HQ AFRC.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.

The primary purpose of this position is: an Air Reserve Technician (ART) Officer to serve as the Maintenance Group Commander/DCM.
In this capacity, the incumbent of this position is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, directing, and controlling the activities and operations of all maintenance functions within a Group (FG, ARG, AG, etc.).
Provides training to reservists in the accomplishment of the tasks set forth herein. DUTY 1: Plans, directs, organizes, and coordinates the maintenance activity within existing policies and objectives.
DUTY 2: Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. DUTY 3: Represents the wing with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
DUTY 4: Maintains surveillance and ensures effective operation of the maintenance program.
