This job involves leading a team of maintenance workers in the utilities branch at a military base in Hawaii, where you'll plan daily operations, solve work problems, and ensure everything runs smoothly with minimal oversight.
It's ideal for someone with hands-on experience in fixing and maintaining systems who also enjoys managing people and working in tough outdoor conditions.

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: Hawaii has many outdoor activities all year-round including surfing, fishing, and hiking.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor ~ without more than normal supervision.

PHYSICAL EFFORT: Required to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions and where parts of the system are in hard-to-reach places.
Lifts and carries items that weigh up to 75 pounds and occasionally handles heavier items, usually with assistance of another person or of mechanical devices.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Works inside and outside in all types of weather. The work is usually dirty, dusty, and greasy. Exposed to mud, water, and fumes.
Frequently exposed to the possibility of scrapes, burns, and infections from unsanitary work sites. Incumbent has occasional exposure to the possibility of broken bones.
Protective devices such as but not limited to ear plugs, safety glasses, respirators, gloves, hard hat, and safety shoes are required.
Long trousers or coveralls and shirt or tee shirt with sleeves are worn. Responds to emergency calls after regular working hours. Major Duties:
