Full Job Description
Under supervision, performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled mechanical maintenance work; and does related work as required.Requirements
Does skilled carpentry work in the alterations, repair, and maintenance of buildings, floors, roofs, stairways, partitions, doors, window screens, wood fixtures and furniture.
Repairs tables, chairs, benches, cupboards, counters; builds concrete forms, false work and scaffolds; lays subflooring and does sheathing.
Operates power saws, jointers, wood lathes, planers and boring, sanding and mortising machines.
Cleans, sharpens, and repairs hand and bench tools.
Makes estimates of time and materials required for assigned tasks; reads blueprints and rough drawings; keeps simple records.
Employee required to work any emergency as directed by the Commissioner of Public Works.
Qualifications
2 years of experience required in related work. Must be a resident of the city of Boston.Additional Information
