Full Job Description
Under supervision, performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled mechanical maintenance work; and does related work as required.
Requirements
Lays out, cuts and fits material for welding; preheats and cleans metals. Performs auto body repair work of all types, including straightening, grinding and welding. Does general welding of worn gears using acetylene and electric arc welding when required. Brazes various non-ferrous metals. Inspects brushes and grind welds. Sharpens and tempers tools and does some general repair work requiring the use of lathes, drill presses and similar equipment. Employee Required to work any emergency as directed by the commissioner of Public Works.Qualifications
