This job involves leading a team of machinists at a naval shipyard in Hawaii, where you'll oversee daily operations, assign tasks to supervisors, and ensure work gets done efficiently on ship maintenance and manufacturing projects.
It's ideal for someone with strong hands-on experience as a machinist who is ready to step into a leadership role, managing multiple work groups and providing guidance to others.
You'll need to be organized, decisive, and skilled at inspecting and training teams to keep everything running smoothly.
You will serve as a MACHINIST SUPERVISOR II in the OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT, MANUFACTURING AND MAINTENANCE GROUP of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
