Full Job Description

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position: This position will serve in the Sensors Aerial Intelligence Office of The Project Manager, located at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that includes: 1) Develops Life Cycle Sustainment plans for an acquisition program; 2) Provides guidance on Acquisition Life Cycle Logistics Product Support to identify requirement or shortages; and 3) Manages integrated logistics support activities to develop and prepare items for fielding.

Major Duties:

  • Directs and performs complex logistics management operations, including planning and evaluating Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) for systems with new technologies.
  • Applies expert knowledge of ILS principles to solve novel problems and develop new approaches using experimental theories and experienced judgment.
  • Manages all logistics elements, such as maintenance, supply support, and training, for one or more acquisition programs.
  • Provides complete, cradle-to-grave logistics management for a major weapons system from concept through deployment.
  • Manages planning, liaison, contract monitoring, and logistical support for field exercises and tests.
  • Integrates logistics functions and implements acquisition policies to field fully supportable systems that meet soldiers' operational needs.
  • Applies life cycle management principles to oversee and monitor comprehensive DOD logistics programs, integrating environmental and safety requirements.
