Job Description

Summary

This job involves managing logistics for naval ships and submarines in Guam, such as coordinating supplies, deliveries, and mail when vessels arrive, while ensuring everything runs efficiently and follows rules.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the NAVSUP FLC YOKO REG.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Investigating, analyzing and resolving a variety of conventional supply concerns, questions, or situations to access effectiveness and efficiency of the program.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will coordinate pre-deployment logistics information; meeting ships/subs upon arrival from an underway period.
  • You will generate load plans that consist of providing information on provisions and ship's store orders and delivery, as well as mail delivery.
  • You will facilitate and oversee the following non-HSP services, to include: deliveries and transportation of fuel, cargo and mail; assist with HAZMAT/HAZWASTE.
  • You will develop and implement innovative Fleet customer-oriented logistics products and services that enhance efficiency while controlling costs.
  • You will provide guidance within the site to other employees and respond to inquiries, audits, and inspections concerning resource utilization.
  • You will review supply programs to determine overall effectiveness and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, agreements and policies.
