The primary purpose of this position LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST GS-0346-12 is to serve as a senior logistics management specialist in support of acquisition phases of assigned systems, programs, or major equipment.

Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, ADMINISTRATIVE and MANAGEMENT Positions.

Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have or within 120 days, will have 52 weeks (one year) of specialized experience which is equivalent to Federal experience at the next lower grade (GS-11) level or equivalent (grade level, pay schedule, pay band, etc.) and is described in detail in my resume.

An example of creditable specialized experience includes: assisting with planning, managing and coordinating cradle to grave life cycle logistics, determining support requirements, aiding with evaluation of the status and effectiveness of the program support and recommending changes to policy, representing higher level officials as necessary.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-­grade requirements to be considered eligible.

One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of basic theories and principles of systems design, specifications development techniques; and an understanding of acquisition and maintenance requirements as well as organizational functions involved in logistical support.

Knowledge of theories and principles of Integrated Product Support Elements planning, development, and execution sufficient to coordinate and integrate functions into a total, well structured, and viable program.

Knowledge of system life cycle concepts and design as they apply to system research, development, and acquisition. Knowledge of contractual processes, procedures, and technical requirements.

Ability to plan, analyze, and coordinate a system or portion of a major system's acquisition and transfer into operational use; to include the identification and correlation of specific requirements for money, manpower, materiel, facilities, and services needed to support the program; and to develop and analyze data to determine logistic objectives and goals, identify support requirements (including funding, contract development, and other technical support requirements), and establish relationships between the participants involved in deploying the plan.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.

You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:

Serve as the focal point for planning, management, and coordination of life cycle logistics support for a major weapon system or subsystem.

Manage, monitor, evaluate, and coordinate Integrated Product Support Elements plan implementation. Serve as the senior technical advisor on contracts.

Serve as the senior representative and spokesperson in communicating program matters.

Exercise technical leadership to obtain agreement on required actions, schedules, and the resolution of conflicting points of view concerning program or policy matters.
