The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Aircraft Maintenance Functional Area Manager (FAM) and Contingency Planner as a member of HQ AFRC/A4RX.
The branch is responsible for developing, evaluating and directing overall command-wide management, control, policy and administration.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems.
Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of logistics management operations in supply and transportation policies, practices, and techniques including knowledge of military and commercial transportation programs, munitions, storage and materials equipment policies, preservation, packaging, and cargo movement and materiel management.
Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible.
One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1.
Comprehensive knowledge of Air Force logistics concepts, principles, practices, procedures, and instructions applicable to a full range of logistics management to include deployment planning and logistics operations in peacetime and wartime conditions.
Develops and recommends policies and operational procedures to the command. 2.
Thorough knowledge of Aircraft Maintenance management principles, codes, internal and external interfaces, and uses of automated logistics mobilization and planning programs and databases. 3.
Ability to organize, formulate, develop, analyze, review, plan and coordinate Aircraft Maintenance operation requirements, data, policies, and procedures. 4.
Skill in conducting projects, studies, and detailed analyses of complex functions and processes. 5.
Knowledge of AFRC Aircraft Maintenance programs to include internal and external interfaces, procedures and use of various computer systems that pertain to Aircraft Maintenance management. 6.
Skill and ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Maintain good working relationships.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.
You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:
DUTY 1: Plans, organizes and oversees the activities of the Command Aircraft Maintenance Functional Area Management duties.
DUTY 2: Develops and manages Aircraft Maintenance deliberate plans, Designed Operational Capability (DOC) Statements and provides planning and execution activities to support all contingency operations.
DUTY 3: Responsible for the management and oversight of all personnel and equipment within the Aircraft Maintenance functional area.
DUTY 4: Represents the AFRC Aircraft Maintenance community at higher management-level meetings within the organization, and at MAJCOM, HAF, DoD and other agencies.
DUTY 5: Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
