Job Description

Summary

This job involves managing the supply chain and ongoing support for naval weapon systems, ensuring everything from inventory to repairs runs smoothly for military projects.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a Logistics Management Specialist of NAVSUP WEAPON SYSTEMS SUPPORT.

GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector; demonstrating knowledge of inventory management and lifecycle logistic support; capable of utilizing software and data management tools.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Possess good communication skills to successfully coordinate with internal and external partners across multiple organizations; 2) Assist in facilitating adequate product support & sustainment plans for high priority projects and proactively conduct sound analyses; 3) Within a year, must be able to innovatively produce solutions for problems of varying complexity and develop multiple courses of action to ensure mission success; and 4) Developing and conducting briefs for leadership in various forums on the current state of measures enacted to eliminate or mitigate any issues.

GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector; demonstrating knowledge of inventory management and lifecycle logistic support; capable of utilizing software and data management tools.

  • You will have knowledge and skill in the application of the supply related ILS management principles, concepts and methodology to a variety of difficult and complex ILS projects.
  • You will have knowledge of various disciplines as they relate to ILS for supply to include provisioning, allowance development, configuration management, requirements determination, repairable management, postproduction support etc.
  • You will have knowledge of the technical characteristics of assigned systems/equipment/platforms, including, knowledge of ILS concepts and policies to ensure compliance with general instructions, policies, and procedures.
  • You will have knowledge of engineering, sufficient to distinguish between supply and engineering problems and to provide resolution of such problems.
