This part-time library aide role focuses on supporting students and families at a neighborhood library through homework help, skill-building activities, and guidance on job searches and computer use.
It involves creating a positive environment for learning while handling basic administrative tasks like filing and reporting.
Ideal candidates are organized, patient individuals with some office experience who enjoy working with kids and are available for flexible shifts including weekends.
The Library, Arts and Culture Department has 1 (one) immediate opening for an unclassified, part-time, LIBRARY AIDE (NON-CAREER) - LEARNING GUIDE
for the Family Learning Centers (FLC) Program. Family Learning Centers offer drop-in homework help, homework support materials, and computer-based learning to enrich student study skills and develop parent participation and support. Under the direction of a supervising Librarian, Learning Guides contribute to making libraries across the City a welcoming environment while providing educational enrichment. This position will report to the Michelle Obama Neighborhood Library, located at 5870 Atlantic Avenue, Long Beach, CA 90805.This recruitment will either remain open until 100 applications are received or close at 11:59 PM Pacific Time on Tuesday, March 25, 2026.
