Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team in managing supply requests and inventory for the U.S.

Navy's Pacific Fleet, focusing on prioritizing materials, tracking shipments, and handling government purchase cards to keep operations running smoothly.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience at GS-09 level or equivalent in handling, screening, and processing Issue Priority Group (IPG) requisitions
  • Proficiency in using Priority Requisition Information Management Enterprise (PRIME) or similar supply tracking systems
  • Experience managing a Government Purchase Card (GPC) program, including compliance with procedures and regulations
  • Ability to lead a team of civilian and military personnel, guiding tasks and evaluating performance
  • Knowledge of material control, supply requisitioning, tracking, and delivery processes
  • Familiarity with Military Standard Requisitioning and Issuing Procedures (MILSTRIP) for inventory evaluation and sourcing
  • Skills in querying procurement status, updating customers, and providing training to develop team competencies

Full Job Description

You will serve as a LEAD SUPPLY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the PRIORITY MATERIAL OFFICE.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector handling, screening, and processing Issue Priority Group (IPG) requisitions, using Priority Requisition Information Management Enterprise (PRIME) or similar supply tracking systems, and/or managing a Government Purchase Card (GPC) program ensuring compliance with procedures and regulations.

  • You will be in charge of a team made up of both civilian and military members.
  • You will work alongside the supervisor to help guide daily tasks, check on work performance, and share any problems or updates.
  • You will assist with material control, supply requisitioning, tracking, and delivery, ensuring efficient workflow.
  • You will manage a Government Purchase Card program, establish or update internal procedures, appoint participants, and provide training and guidance.
  • You will evaluate supply system inventory and souring Military Standard Requisitioning and Issuing Procedures (MILSTRIP) requisitions to stock points.
  • You will query item managers or material control points for procurement and delivery status and update customers.
  • You will research and refer commercially procurable parts to the command's Government Purchase Card program.
  • You will develop competencies in others by providing an environment of learning using formal and informal learning methods of instruction.
