Full Job Description

This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services (CMCS), Division of Enrollment Policy & Operations (DEPO).

As a Lead Social Science Research Analyst, GS-0101-14, you will you will provide senior-level technical and analytic leadership for Medicaid and CHIP provisions, focusing on community engagement requirements and other provisions' impact on state eligibility operations.

In order to qualify for the GS-14, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: 1.

Providing technical advice on Medicaid, Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), Basic Health Program (BHP), or other national health insurance programs; 2.

Developing written guidance and instructions to put health policies into practice; 3. Serving as a team lead and directing project activities; AND 4.

Working closely with internal and external partners to develop, implement, and negotiate policy, and to analyze related data.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:

  • Ensuring the organization’s strategic plan, mission, vision, and values are effectively communicated to the team and integrated into their strategies, goals, objectives, work plans, work products, and services.
  • Providing technical expertise on Medicaid and CHIP eligibility and enrollment policy development, program operations, and data analysis.
  • Developing documents, implementing new or modified analytic methodologies, and ensuring rigorous quality assurance.
