Full Job Description

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position: Serves as a Lead Security Guard assigned under the authority of the Senior Commander at IMCOM supported installations.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes federal, state, municipal, local, or private protective organization that involved the protection of property against such hazards as fire, theft, damage, accident, or trespass; or maintaining order and protecting life and engaging in work with protective systems and techniques.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Major Duties:

  • Enter data into automated information systems required to prepare reports or shift activity.
  • Train co-workers on proper use of automation equipment and software.
  • Provide information to visitors regarding the location of facilities and hours of operation.
  • Question suspicious persons in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Control movement of personnel and vehicles accessing secure facilities.
  • Respond to incidents involving security breaches or potential threats.
  • Prepare written reports to document all incidents and investigations.
  • Record visitor information prior to issuing access passes or badges for access.
