About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Eisenhower Golf Course, Air Force Academy, CO. This position does not include benefits.

This is a developmental position having known promotion potential to the Outside Services Supervisor, 05576, NF-1101-III, upon completion of 6 months experience as Lead Recreation Assistant (Golf Course),05337, NF-0189-II, the incumbent may be non-competitively promoted to the higher pay band.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience: Class A PGA membership is preferred, but as a minimum, applicant must have 1 year experience working in a golf operation/industry.

Applicant must have experience in leading others on how to accomplish work; to follow oral and/or written instructions; to determine tools, materials and personnel required to perform tasks and evaluate work being performed.

Applicant must have experience in providing customer service. Must be able to read, write and speak English. Requires lifting up to 40 pounds.

May work an uncommon tour of duty such as nights and weekends. Position is subject to furlough from 1 November to 31 March.

A Local Files Check (LFC) and National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) are required. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Major Duties:

Leads the Outside Golf Operations staff by giving instructions on all tasks that are performed in club storage. Prepares outside golf operations staff schedules.

Responsible for all the on-the-job training of new employees working in club storage. Checks on all upcoming programs and tournaments daily.

Insures that all the following are completed: Club storage, driving range, putting greens, golf car staging area, parking lots and the entire outside area of the Club House operation are maintained in a clean and orderly fashion at all times; all golf cars are cleaned and serviced daily or as needed and supplied with sand and seed, tees and pencils; proper set up of the driving range; accountability of members' and rental golf clubs; all sand and seed refill stations are properly stocked at all times by coordinating with the Golf Course Superintendent; all on course water coolers are filled with cold drinking water and are restocked with cups; proper movement of hitting stations to maximize turf use; and range balls are cleaned and sorted daily, discarding worn balls.

Responsible for setting up registration areas for golf tournaments as well as assisting the Food and Beverage Supervisor in arranging the Eisenhower Room for special functions.
