Full Job Description

This position is located at: Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area (BLORA) - Fort Hood Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area (BLORA) is a reservoir located near Fort Hood and offers patrons a vast verity of activities, including but not limited to: camping, boating, hiking, fishing, kayaking, paintball, horseback riding and mountain biking.

This is an open continuous announcement. All qualified applicants will be forwarded to management on a weekly or as needed basis. Resumes must be two pages (or less).

Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position.

A qualified candidate must possess the following: Work experience or education directly related to the duties to be performed.

In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": Knowledge and experience executing multiple recreation programs such as kayaking, mountain biking, challenge course, or other similar activities.

Highly Preferred Criteria NOTE: Applicants who met both minimum qualifications and highly preferred criteria will be referred to the selecting official for consideration first.

  • Serves as shift manager during absence of Recreation Specialist (Program Manager).
  • Assign work by defining objectives, priorities, and deadlines and provides guidance to other staff. Assist in the planning/establishing of objectives and goals for the facility.
  • Instruct customers in the proper use of equipment and programs within area of responsibility. Sets up recreational areas for on-site events.
  • Helps plan, conduct, publicize, and arrange support for a variety of sponsored special events, social activities, tournaments and related functions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
