QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Applicant must have one year of post-high school experience in the hospitality industry or one year of post-high school education. Candidate must: 1.
Possess a high school diploma or GED Certificate. 2. Be able to communicate in English (both written and oral). 3. Be 18 years of age at the time of appointment. 4.
Possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs, walk, bend, and stoop and stand on a routine basis. In addition to the above, either: 6.
Possess twelve (12) months experience working in a group program with children and/or youth.or: 7. Possess AA degree with major emphasis in childcare.
Must have demonstrated experience in training and leading employees. Must be able to obtain a valid USAREUR driver's license.
Must have or be able to obtain current American Red Cross First Aid and CPR/AED training certification.

DESCRIPTION OF MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: SUPERVISORY CONTROLS: Incumbent performs duties under the verbal and written direction of the Just For Kids (JFK) Program Manager at the Edelweiss Lodge & Resort (EL&R).
Assistance and guidance is normally available at all times. Work is reviewed in terms of results achieved and adherence to established standards and procedures.
MAJOR DUTIES: Serves as a Lead Recreation Assistant (Just For Kids) at the Edelweiss Lodge & Resort (EL&R), with responsibility for the operation of the JFK program in accordance with applicable procedures and regulations.
Works in ratio with children, and monitors staff/children ratios to ensure adequate staffing. Organizes and distributes work to Recreation Aids.
Demonstrates proper work methods and provides work-related guidance to subordinates. Models appropriate behaviors and techniques for working with children. Conducts on-the-job training and instruction.
Ensures employees follow safety, fitness, health and nutrition procedures. Maintains control of accounts for the whereabouts and safety of children. Oversees arrival/departure of children.
Contacts parents if children do not arrive/depart as scheduled.
Encourages participant interest and establishes a program setting that promotes positive child interactions with other children and adults.
Observes program participants for signs that may indicate illness, abuse, or neglect and reports as directed.
Plans, coordinates, and conducts activities for program participants based on observed needs of children.
Instructs employees in specific tasks and job techniques; makes available written instructions, reference materials and supplies. Explains program guidance, procedures, policies and directives.
Resolves problems and conflict situations or obtains information and guidance from the supervisor.
When requested provides input to the supervisor concerning promotions, reassignments, performance appraisals, incentive awards, etc. Maintains site records and prepares required reports.
Ensures site, equipment, and supplies are adequate and properly maintained and accounted for. Coordinates site activity during evacuations and emergencies.
Uses designated evaluation materials to ensure assigned area is in compliance with standards and procedures as outlined in applicable regulations and program management guides.
Provides care, oversight and accountability for program participants in compliance with DOD, Army and local policies, guidance, and standards.
Completes designated training requirements and records completed training on own Individual Development Plan (IDP).
Reports any problems to the Just For Kids Program Manager as soon as possible in order to maintain a high quality service to our guests. Performs other duties as assigned.
