Summary

This job is for a lead police officer at a U.S. Army base in Pennsylvania, where you'll guide a team in handling security incidents, enforcing rules, and protecting people and property.

Full Job Description

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position: The incumbent will serve as a Lead Police Officer at Carlisle Barracks assigned under the authority of the Senior Commander at IMCOM supported installations.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) providing guidance on law enforcement policies and procedures to team members; 2) performing law enforcement duties to include collect evidence, conducting searches, administering first aid, AND 3) enforcing laws to protect personnel and property.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). Major Duties:

  • Respond to radio calls requesting assistance to resolve various incidents.
  • Monitor lower level employees work performance to ensure compliance with supervisors? instruction and established operating procedures.
  • Operate the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) terminal IAW federal/State law.
  • Report to supervisor on employee performance, progress and training needs.
  • Apprehend violators as required by applicable laws and regulations.
  • Interview apprehended suspects to gather information and analyze facts.
  • Participate in civilian training in law enforcement policies and procedures.
  • Conduct investigative traffic stops to issue citations when appropriate.
