For additional assistance, please visit: USAJOBS Help Center - Update your resume now so it meets new resume requirements Specialized Experience: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal government, performing duties such as: 1) Developing and implementing the long and short-range training plans and formulating appropriate financial operating plans and program procedures to ensure the training program meet the needs and interest of the organization; 2) Providing oversight concerning the conduct of basic training classes for personnel and plans, coordinates, and executes field training and lab exercises; 3) Monitoring progress of students, documenting results, and/or recommending remedial and corrective action to include additional training and changes in training and/or operational procedures and instructions.; and 4) Ensuring that programs/courses are conducted within the parameters of sound professional methodologies and that instructors are compliant with established training procedures.

Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level. All qualifications and eligibility requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement.

Time-in-grade: Current General Schedule (GS) federal employees, and those that have served in GS positions within the last 52 weeks, must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade, or a combination of the next lower grade level and an equivalent band in the federal service by the closing of this announcement.

Serving as a Lead Law Enforcement Specialist (Firearms Instructor) GS-1801-13 makes you a valuable member of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) team and mission.

This position is located in the Firearms Division (FAD), Core Training Operations (CTO) Directorate under the Office of the Associate Director for Training Operations (TOPS) and located in Glynco, Georgia.

The primary purpose of this position is planning and conducting classroom, laboratory, and/or field instruction sessions as part of the FAD training program.

Typical duties include: Serving as a lead instructor, subject-matter expert, and program/course developer in the assigned firearms program/course areas of law enforcement training.

Using the lesson plan as a guide, the position manages and/or conducts basic and/or advanced firearms training programs.

Providing oversight concerning the conduct of basic training classes for personnel and plans, coordinates, and executes field training and lab exercises.

Monitoring progress of students, documenting results, and/or recommending remedial and corrective action to include additional training and changes in training and/or operational procedures and instructions.

Initiating content changes and develops different approaches and methods of instruction and recommends any other changes needed to improve the course/program and achieve course/program objectives.
