Job Description

Summary

This job involves supporting military personnel with pay, benefits, and administrative tasks in the Navy's human resources office, such as processing paperwork, answering questions, and maintaining records.

It's a lead assistant role that helps ensure everything runs smoothly for service members in San Diego.

To qualify for the GS-07, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Advising personnel on human resources concepts, principles, and management processes to support the Pay/Personnel Administration Support System (PASS); 2) Utilizing automated pay and personnel systems for processing actions (e.g.

separations, retirements, gains, or similar personnel matters); and 3) Reviewing pay entitlement documents to ensure they are authentic, accurate, and in compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and precedents.

To qualify for the GS-06, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing knowledge of human resources concepts, principles, and management processes to support the Pay/Personnel Administration Support System (PASS); 2) Utilizing automated pay and personnel systems; 3) Preparing documents in order to process pay entitlements actions.

  • You will create personnel data reports to support office administration.
  • You will research human resources websites (e.g., Office of Personnel Management, organization or agency portals, or similar website) to obtain information for employees and managers.
  • You will maintain data from personnel records for use in answering inquires.
  • You will maintain documents (e.g., publications, directives, recurring reports, tickler files, and correspondence, filing systems) related to human resources functions.
  • You will update customers on the status of requested information.
