This job involves leading a team of HR assistants at a military entrance processing station in Anchorage, Alaska, where you'll help process new recruits by verifying their information, managing records, and ensuring everything runs smoothly for enlistment into the armed forces.

About the Position: The Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) plays a vital role in maintaining the nation's military might by ensuring that each new member of the Armed Forces: Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Space Force & Coast Guard; meets the high mental, moral & medical standards required by the DoD & the military services.
Every MEPS represents state of the art in testing, examining & processing applicants for enlistment into the Armed Forces.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Providing administrative/clerical support to a reception-administration control desk for the organization; 2) Questioning applicants to obtain and/or verify that data required for final data processing of forms/records is complete; 3) Performing records management of electronic and/or paper applicant records; 4) Entering data into automated system(s) to record applicant processing information.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.
For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Typing Proficiency: In addition to meeting the above qualifications, applicants will need to self-certify their typing proficiency.
