Base salary range: $74,441 - $96,770
Typical requirements: 1 year specialized experience at GS-11. Advanced degree + significant experience.
Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves leading a team to inspect, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines on U.S. Navy ships and submarines, ensuring they are ready for missions.
You'll guide experts, manage projects for efficient maintenance, and advise on technical issues to keep the fleet operational.
It's a great fit for someone with hands-on engineering experience in mechanical systems, strong leadership skills, and the ability to work independently in a military environment.
You will serve as a LEAD ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Diesel Engine Branch (Code 264), Main Propulsion and Electrical Division (Code 260), Engineering Department (Code 200) of MID ATLANTIC REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CTR.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience solving unique and difficult problems affecting the overall system, applying engineering disciplines (e.g.
mechanical, electrical, electronic, and structural). Experience understanding and interpreting plans, schematics, drawings and specifications and making field adjustments/modifications as required.
Experience understanding activity missions, chains of command, organizational objectives, and administrative policies to permit moderately independent operation.
Experience leading a team of government employees, military members and contractors in the performance of assigned tasks and assignments.
Experience communicating effectively, both orally and in writing and negotiating solutions to problems.
Experience recognizing and reporting errors, inconsistencies or other deficiencies in technical schematics, drawings.
