About the Position: This position is located within Madigan Army Medical Center (MAMC) Incumbent will serve as Lead Electronics Technician (Biomedical) within the medical treatment facility (MTF).

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes installing, maintaining, diagnosing, repairing, and/or testing specialized medical electronic equipment/radiological systems; providing in-service training and/or assistance with medical electronic equipment/systems to medical staff; confirming patient care equipment is set up and calibrated in accordance with established regulations, guidance and/or standards.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10).

OR Education: One full year of graduate level education above a masters leading towards a PhD.

in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electronics Technology or Biomedical Engineering.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12.

Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total semester hours minus 18) by 9. Add the two percentages.

Major Duties:

  • Provides expert-level technical support and maintenance for all specialized medical equipment
  • Manages the complete intake and setup process for new medical equipment, from initial assembly to final performance testing.
  • Provides initial, hands-on support and troubleshooting for complex, networked medical systems
  • Performs scheduled maintenance to ensure the safety and reliability of all medical equipment
  • Evaluates and installs sophisticated/complex medical equipment for new medical systems
  • Conducts formal investigations into all patient care equipment safety issues
  • Provides leadership, training, mentorship, and oversight of team personnel.
